Haha I post now!

Ta da its magic, I am actually posting.  There has been a lot of irons in the fire lately and I am feeling a little behind with everything.  I am hoping things will start to cool down in the next 3-4 months, but that could all just be wishful thinking.  Big changes are ahead and I will keep ya'll posted.   Ok now that the disclaimer/excuse is out of the way, I would like to reiterate again that my chickens are the best animals ever.  Why don't you have chickens?  Seriously, everyone should have at least two, there is no excuse, go down to your local feed store and pick up a couple chicks.....  Ready set Go!
My girls are laying almost every day, and as a result, I have almost two dozen eggs in the refrigerator. Saturday mornings are my egg cooking day.  They are so yellow compared store bought, I love it.  The chickens make some really funny noises when laying the eggs you definately know when it is time to collect.  There are two that lay in the morning around 9 and the other two lay in the afternoon around 3.  I don't know if they have worked out some type of schedule between themselves, but it is like clockwork.
Yellow is the color of happy eggs

We are actually going to celebrate Christmas this year so we have the house all decorated and we got a tree!  It does feel weird for this Iowa girl to have a Christmas tree in the living room with all the windows open and a warm breeze blowing in.  I have lived in Hawaii for almost 5 Christmases (this year will be 6), and I still don't think it will ever feel quite right.  I can't complain though, the weather has been much cooler (80 instead of 85), don't hate.  I made some really yummy egg nog for sipping after we decorated the tree.  It is kind of a family tradition to sip egg nog and admire the gloriousness of the Christmas tree.  I hate store bought egg nog and was never a huge fan, but home made egg nog = Christmas delicious joy.
Egg nogging
Look at my handiwork, I am being clever... well sort of.  I love the green eggs, it makes me want to buy a can of spam just so I can have green eggs and spam.
Glorious
Marzipan and mini Marzipan are both getting a little pudgy. I gave them both pedicures the other day which was way easier than I thought.   I bribed Marzipan with food and she was acutally fine with trimming hooves.  When I tried to do mini Marzipan's hooves though Marzipan tried to bite me in the butt so I elbowed her face and she got the hint.  She is still stupidly loud in the mornings when she wants her food... she is now completely confidant that she has us trained.  If I ever get enough property to spread out, the goat barn will be the furthest away from the house and completely soundproofed.

On a bit of a side note, as many of you know; Rosey hurt herself and is kind of cripple.  The vet thought it was probably a torn ligament in her knee.  She has been on strict rest and activity restriction.  The poor thing is going crazy, but after two weeks she is starting to weight bear again.  I hope this is a good sign and this means nothing was permanently damaged.

We bred the rabbits, I will leave out the details, but lets just say we found out we have three male rabbits not two, so one has to go.  I think Frank is going to be voted off the island.  Whether he goes on craigslist or ends up in our tummys is up for discussion.   I have one vote for eating so if anyone else has an opinion let it be known(-:
