Hip Hip Hooray! I finally got the nerve together to eat the eggs that my lovely chickens have laid. For quite a while I just wanted them to sit in the fridge so I could admire them at will. I am going to assume it is both Agnes an Pearl laying because we have gotten a small brown egg every day (-: They may be small for now, but I am just tickled to have them. If you have never had farm fresh eggs, go try some. Seriously, you owe it to yourself to try the real thing. The more I make things at home or get things from the garden the more I realize that the supermarket versions are watered down versions of the real thing. The eggs from my chickens were hard to crack, the shells were so thick! The yolks have a bright sunny yellow color compared to store bought eggs which are pale yellow. I am so often reminded that the big agriculture industry cares little for flavor or nutrient content of the food they produce. Big agriculture is concerned with one thing; a profit and that means using pesticides, herbicides, and only cultivating the crop that will produce the most the fastest. Even though that is sad, people are beginning to get back to the basics, and there is huge movements to get back to farmer's markets and heirloom varieties with their wonderful colors, richer flavors and dense nutrient content. I didn't know that tomatoes came in any color than red up until a few years ago, same with carrots. Purple carrots and tomatoes make me happy, I guess it is the small things.

| Perfection |
I made bread this weekend which turned out great. I made bruschetta with heirloom cherry tomatoes from the farmers market and basil from my garden.

Marzipan and mini marzipan are doing well. Mini Marzipan is such a pretty goat, too bad she isn't the brightest. She would probably win if I entered her into a goat beauty pagent. I will try to get her to pose for some photos so I can show you what a fine doe she is. I am trying to find them a buck for December... eeek.... I am going to be dealing with pregnant goats that will be interesting.

| Elf |
I was an elf for Halloween, that is me at work showing off my awesome ears. I don't know whether this is a sad thing or funny, but some people just thought I had deformed ears, apparently elf ears fit my overall look.
